I’m hiring for an exciting new editorial/community project within Thomson Reuters — the Global Markets Forum. This is aimed at the global community of professional markets players — investors and traders — and will launch in the fourth quarter. There’s a limit to what can be said on the official Thomson Reuters careers site so this is just to give a bit more background.
The centre of the community will be a live forum based on Instant Messaging. This will be seeded round the clock with the most important news and views affecting the markets. A major feature will be regular community interviews with experts on the hottest stories moving the markets. These guests may be experts within Thomson Reuters, from the markets, or from officialdom.
The Forum will appeal to creative journalists interested in new ways of engaging communities, building networks and unlocking the intelligence within them. There will be a very strong emphasis on developing a culture of participation, building on the lessons learnt in other Editorial-led community initiatives within Thomson Reuters.
Editorial engagement will be handled by three teams of three — an Editor, a Deputy and a Community Producer in New York, London and either Hong Kong or Singapore. However, flexibility on location will be shown for exceptional candidates.
There are more details on the required skills on the Thomson Reuters careers site:
New York: Editor; Deputy; Community Producer
London: Editor; Deputy; Community Producer
HK/Singapore: Editor; Deputy; Community Producer
